OMG...I just realized (thanks to Marjie Kemper) that you are in Gainesville, FL! So am I! I love your work. I also just realized that I missed the Gainesville Arts Market. I never have heard of this event. Since I missed this event today, I will put it on my calendar for next month. Hope to meet you then.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's probably a good thing that you didn't make it to the Gainesville Arts Market yesterday because right at noon it poured down rain and everyone started packing up. I had never heard of it before last month....it's small....right behind SOMA on Main Street. Have you ever checked out SOMA? I just found that little store a few months ago. I love it because they have stuff there that you can't find in Michaels or Joanns (they don't have a wide selection of items, just different stuff). Are you an artist?
DeleteI have been to SOMA before, and I agree with your observations.
ReplyDeleteI am a retired elementary school teacher. After I retired in 2012, I realized I needed a creative outlet. (Writing lessons plans, developing those lessons, doing bulletin boards, creating learning games, etc. were, after all, taping into my creative side.) Although I have NEVER been artsy, I have been crafty. I am not very original, but I do copy well. First, I started making cards for Operation Write Home (OWH). Once OWH shut down, I discovered art journaling through a little business in High Springs called Cootie Coo Creations. I have been doing art journaling for over a year now and find it very addictive!
