Creative Heart Monday - Talk and Listen

Happy Creative Heart Monday!

I listen to a TED Talk the other day in the car about communicating.  It made me start thinking about how difficult it has become to communicate these days.  We tend to stay within our cliques of like-minded people because we don't want to argue with those of different opinions.  But, how will we learn.  We think that people are just crazy to believe the things they do...but don't we all want, basically, the same things out of life?  Maybe we would benefit from really listening to why and how they developed their opinions and beliefs and, hopefully, they would listen to ours.  We need to really hear other people....not just get angry and think of how we are going to respond while they are speaking.  It's tough and I'm, certainly, not one to be preaching on this subject.  However, I plan to make an effort to be more open, not because I will change my beliefs, but to understand how they came to theirs.
