Original art, tutorials, and more. One, former number cruncher's journey to find her own unique artistic style. I'm going to try it all and see what sticks!
This month, I was inspired by Claude Monet for my Inspiration From The GREATS project. I painted his waterlilies with acrylic paint. When I finished, I wanted to try it again with inks, so that's what I did in this piece.
I really enjoyed this style and am looking forward to trying it again. You could also use acrylic inks. Check out the acrylic painting piece that I did for Inspiration From The GREATS!
I'm making all kinds of texture today. I couldn't think of what to do.....so I decided to do it all. I even pulled out the fusible interfacing that I bought a couple years ago. I also watched a video on making "faux handmade paper".......that was soooooo easy.
This month we are being inspired by Henri Rousseau (May 21, 1844 – September 2, 1910) a French post-impressionist painter in the Naïve or Primitive manner. He was a toll collector. He was self-taught and his work influenced several generations of avant garde artists. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do this piece. I, finally, settled on Prismacolor pencils. So, here we go..................

I would love to see your pieces inspired by Henri. You can share them on our Inspiration from the GREATS Facebook Group. Next month our great artist will be Frida Kahlo. Also, please check out my CeeCeeART Patreon page. I am doing step-by-step, real time, avideo lessons on projects that are, exclusively, for Patreon. PEACE! Cyndi
Lots and lots of color today.......and lots and lots of different supplies. I started out making a very colorful background, then cut the paper into smaller pieces to make cards.
Have a great Monday and a wonderful week. Check out my new CeeCeeART Patreon page. I've uploaded my first full project and one mini-project, so far, for February.
Today, I'm using several of my Gel Press plates as stamps. I'm creating a very, very, very layered background, then using some, handmade, masks to develop the design.
I had an old, never finished, piece of art way back in my closet, so it was time to make something happen with that pitiful canvas panel.
Welcome to our first Inspiration from the Greats video. This month we are being inspired by Jackson Pollock - originator of American Abstract Expressionism!
This video is, primarily in "real time". I've tried my best to use his techniques. Of course, I don't believe that he was using small bottles of craft paint. He used large cans of paints! He also created very large paintings (which I would like to do someday).
Since this is going to be a monthly thing (we'll focus on a different artist each month), I created a Facebook Group where we can share our painting inspired by the artist of the month. I would love to see your paintings inspired by Jackson Pollock!!
Here we go...............
I hope that you enjoyed the video and would love to here your comments. Join the Facebook Group!!
Today, I'm painting another face with watercolor. For years, watercolor was my nemesis. I found this product terrifying. However, a few hundred Christy Sobelewski videos later, I'm, fearlessly, opening that watercolor palette, spritzing those paints, and applying brush to paper.
If you are an art journaller, or would like to start, check out Art Journal JAZZ. The first video went up on the 12th and the next video will be up on January 26th.
