Happy Creative Heart Monday!

I know, I know.....it's Tuesday.  Things just ran away from me last week.  But, I did finish a quick project today.  Since, I'm completely out of new canvases, I grabbed an old canvas and used acrylic paints and Inktense pencils.  I bought these Inktense pencils awhile back because I always saw people using them and creating beautiful things.  I need to try them more often.

Creative Heart Monday - Magical Face

Creative Heart Monday!

I've been working on faces again.  I'm addicted to Christy Sobelewski at the moment.  She has a Patreon account.  I decided to become a patron back in August and I, certainly, have not been disappointed.  She puts up great videos of great projects.  She does a lot of watercolor (which I do not do) so I'm trying it out, as well as, picking up some new ideas for faces.  I just love her faces. Someday, I hope to have my own, distinct, style.....but, right now, I'm taking a little of this....a little of that, from everyone, and trying to change it up a little bit.

Creative Heart Monday - Mixed Media Hot Air Balloons

Sometimes, it's difficult to come up with a project for the Monday videos.  My husband and I were waiting in the doctor's office earlier this week, and he said "hot air balloons".  I haven't any idea, what inspired this thought, but......hot air balloons it is!!

Creative Heart Monday - Abstract Mixed Media How To

Happy Creative Heart Monday!!

Today, we're doing an, abstract, mixed media project, using acrylic paint and Gel Press® prints.  I'm using a brayer to apply the paint to an 11" X 14" piece of Bristol Mixed Media paper.

This is similar to the technique that I used last week on Yupo paper.

New Product - Flowers Painted with Oil Sticks

I tried a brand new product.....and I love it.  This is the first (and only) piece that I've tried so far, but I can see the possibilities.

R & F Oil Sticks.....sticks of oil paint.  These are not at all like crayons or oil pastels.  It's just oil paint in a stick.  I have avoided oil paints like the plague.  They scare me....all of those solvents and other things that you have to mix with it.  These were so easy.

I tried some flowers.  Like I said, I, definitely, need to practice with these.




They create so much texture on the canvas.  Love it!!!  However, from what I understand, they take about a week to dry.
