First Time Link Party

I have seen these "link parties" o line for a couple years now, but I've never participated in one. Today, I was on Pinterest (hard to believe, isn't it?!?) and I ran across "How to get clicked at Link Parties", which led me to "Practically Functional", which had a link party going called "Creativity Unleashed", which led me to "One Project Closer", which is where I added my link.


You are supposed to link to a post on your blog that other people might find of interest. These posts are also supposed to be fairly recent. The most recent tutorial that I did was the Faux Milk Glass, which was on 12/31/13. I hope that I don't get in trouble for adding something that's a little old.


So, part of my plan for the new year is going to be to participate in these link parties every week. I would really like to get some more readers. I do realize that to get more readers, you have to offer them something worth their while to read. I'm going to do some more tutorials and who knows, I might even get brave enough to do a video tutorial.

Sunday Blogger Problems - I'm SO Happy and SO Bummed!

I am really happy and really bummed. 

First, I'm really thrilled because The Graphics Fairy put my Distressed Painted Box up on their site in their "Reader's Projects". http://thegraphicsfairy.com/painted-box-french-typography-reader-featured-project/

I have subscribed to The Graphics Fairy blog for a long time.  It's really a wonderful site.  Since they put up the post, I have received so many comments from such lovely people.  I have to say that it feels really great when people acknowledge something that you have created.  I really enjoy making things, and for someone else to see it, is like icing on the cake.

Secondly, I'm bummed because Blogger isn't working properly for me right now.  I am not able to reply to the comments that I have received on my blog.  It says "Reply" right under each comment, but when I click on it, nothing happens.  Evidently this is a common issue for Blogger.  I have visited several Help Forums, but none of the temporary remedies that are mentioned, work for me.  Lots of people say that Blogger is aware of this problem.  It's not an issue on everyone's blog, but, it's definitely hit me right now - and, it couldn't be a worse time.  I'd like to thank all of the nice people that took their time to comment.  Some of them have asked questions and now they are going to think that I am just rude.

I'm going to try to not get too freaked out about this.  If anyone has any ideas about this computer glitch, I would love to hear them.

I'm a Blobber!

My mother cracks me up.  For as long as I can remember, she has mis-pronounced words.  Belks (as in Belk Lindsey) has always been "Belts";  Wal Mart is "Wal Mark", alsheimers is "oldtimers", and don't even ask her to say - cholesteral.

However, a few weeks ago, she topped herself.  I had been asking my parents to check out my blog for some time.  Since my mother doesn't touch the computer, my father was in charge of pulling it up.  I called my mother to check in one morning and she informed me that they had finally seen my "blob".  I was in hysterics. 

Mom, if you read this - I'm not making fun.  It's this kind of stuff that makes you so endearing and such a good mother.  I love you!

But, if this is a "blob", that makes me a "blobber"!
