Well, it's Monday night reality TV time, so of course, I'm drawing.
Tonight I started out with a little black and white zentangling with my Faber Castell Pitt Pens. Then I decided to add a face. I outlined the face with the black pen.
I needed some color. I used my Koi Coloring Brush Pens for the pink and green.
I broke out the Prismacolor Colored Pencils to shade and color the face - Suzi Blu style.
Last, but not least, I used the colored pencils to add the blue into the hair and the peach color on the "pearls" at the bottom of the picture.
It was quick. It was fun. I think that I'll reduce it and put it on a card.
Peace,
Cyndi

I Cried at the Honey Boo Boo Wedding
Alright, I've officially lost my mind. For those of you who are not familiar with Honey Boo Boo, tonight was the June's wedding. June is Alana's (Honey Boo Boo's) mother. Sugar Bear is her father. June's first three girls Anna, Pumpkin, and Chubbs (I'm not kidding) were from a previous marriage, but evidently June and Sugar Bear have been together nine years, so he has been like a father to these girls. They didn't actually get married because June says that she will never marry again, but she did agree to a "commitment ceremony".
Now, weddings are a mainstay of reality TV. You rarely ever get through a season of any reality show without a big, million dollar, wedding. I, certainly, have never cried at any of these weddings. But, when I saw Junes' daughters walking down the aisle in their pink and orange dresses, and Sugar Bear crying like a baby, I just lost it. Actually, my eyes started watering when the dog came down the aisle first in his little pink jacket.
I've said this before and I really believe it - These rednecks are the most real people on TV. They do not care about what anyone thinks. People always say that they don't care what anyone else thinks, but the fact is, that most people do care (perhaps, too much). So many people live their lives like they are in a movie - creating drama where there isn't any - being envious of other people - living in a constant state of competition. And...that's why I love Honey Boo Boo.
Did I mention that the wedding crystal was actually stemmed, mason jars????

More Zentangle
As I've mentioned before, I like to Zentangle while I'm watching my reality TV shows. This was my creation while watching the finale of Couples Therapy and a Million Dollar Listing LA re-run.
This one was a Dance Mom's and, I think, Basketball Wives creation.
and, I have no idea what I was watching during this one. It's from last week.
Today, while I was taking care of some, much needed, organization in my bedroom, I watched a couple shows that I'd never seen before. These kind of strayed from my usual reality viewing subject matter. Moonshiners - a show about people who make moonshine. Tickle - a show that, from what I gather, is about a guy that used to be on Moonshiners. The cameras follow him around as he wreaks havoc, while the narrator (who sounds like the narrator from The Dukes of Hazzard) guides the viewing audience. Gold Rush - a show about people panning for gold.
You know - reality TV gets a bad rap. Why? Sure, some of it is semi-scripted. Sure, the producers want to exaggerate things. But, I think it's great that a guy driving a big-rig across the treacherous tundra can have a TV show. An exterminator or the owner of a pawn shop can have an audience. It reminds me of something that my husband said a long time ago. He's a painting contractor. We were talking about how famous people receive applause for everything. He thought it would be great if, every time he finished painting a house, people would gather around and start clapping. He could take a bow, perhaps, give a little acceptance speech. Well, now with reality TV, it might actually happen some day.
Peace,
Cyndi

More Zendoodling While Watching Dance Moms
In between yelling at the TV while I was watching "Dance Moms" last night, I did a little Zentangle/Doodling. Every week I swear that I will never watch that show again, but I'm weak when it comes to my reality TV.
For those of you who haven't been sucked in by the weekly 60 minute episode of child abuse, here's what you need to know.
1. Abby Lee Miller owns a dance school in Pennsylvania.
2. Every weekend she takes her dance team to compete at various dance competitions.
3. The team consists of 6 very talented girls, ages 6 - 15. (actually one girl is 15, but the rest are between 6 and 12.
4. The girls are charming, polite, kind, and respectful.
5. Abby Lee Miller is nasty, rude, hateful, vindictive, dishonest.....I could go on and on. I wouldn't let this woman near my
dogs, let alone a child. She spends the entire 60 minutes berating these children, telling them to disrespect their mothers, and, basically, turning them into emotional basketcases - but they can dance.
Yes, I'm embarrassed that I support this kind television. However, for every reality show that I watch, I make sure that I watch two informative documentaries or shows on Link or Free Speech TV. It's the only way that I can forgive myself.
Anyway - here they are.....
