Inspiration from the GREATS! - Henri Rousseau
This month we are being inspired by Henri Rousseau (May 21, 1844 – September 2, 1910) a French post-impressionist painter in the Naïve or Primitive manner. He was a toll collector. He was self-taught and his work influenced several generations of avant garde artists.
I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do this piece. I, finally, settled on Prismacolor pencils. So, here we go..................
Supplies
11" X 15" Canson Watercolor paper
Watercolors
Prismacolor pencils
Graphite pencil for sketching
I would love to see your pieces inspired by Henri. You can share them on our Inspiration from the GREATS Facebook Group.
Next month our great artist will be Frida Kahlo.
Also, please check out my CeeCeeART Patreon page. I am doing step-by-step, real time, avideo lessons on projects that are, exclusively, for Patreon.

Creative Heart Monday - Sea of Flowers
Happy Creative Heart Monday!
I have accumulated quite a few watercolors over the past year. On top of everything that I already had, I just had to buy the new Jane Davenport waters. They are so bright and beautiful. In this painting, I'm using all of my different brands together. I just went nuts making lots and lots of watercolor blobs, hoping that they would look like flowers in the end.
Here we go.......

Creative Heart Monday - Magical Face
Creative Heart Monday!
I've been working on faces again. I'm addicted to Christy Sobelewski at the moment. She has a Patreon account. I decided to become a patron back in August and I, certainly, have not been disappointed. She puts up great videos of great projects. She does a lot of watercolor (which I do not do) so I'm trying it out, as well as, picking up some new ideas for faces. I just love her faces. Someday, I hope to have my own, distinct, style.....but, right now, I'm taking a little of this....a little of that, from everyone, and trying to change it up a little bit.
Here we go.......

Creative Heart Monday 1-11-16 "The Face"
Happy Monday Morning!!
It was a "Faces" weekend for me. I couldn't stop drawing and painting them. However, I had to deal with my nemesis "the hair". I have issues with hair on paper and in real life. (for those of you that know me....you know what I'm talking about).
(my hair, actually, looked like this in the '90s)
The interesting thing about painting faces is that you never, really, know what she's going to look like until you get into it. It can be very intimidating and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not performing life or death surgery....if it's a mess, I CAN paint over it. The most difficult part for me is just getting started. Once I commit, it's easy.
