How to Make a Wooden Bunting

I needed a banner for my new art fair tent, so I figured that I would make one.  I found some, cute, wooden flags at the craft store and I already had the rest of the supplies.

Here's my tent.  I've set it up in my front yard so that I can figure out how I'm going to arrange the displays and hang my paintings.

Supplies

Wooden flags
8" X 10" Gel Press plate
Acrylic Craft Paint
Miscellaneous Stencils
Texture Plates
Regular Brayer
Textured Brayer
Hand-cut circle masks
Black Oil Pastel
Acrylic spray sealer
Twine

I hung the bunting on my fireplace so that I could take these pictures.  I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to attach it to my tent yet.

I started a new Patreon page - CeeCeeART.  I would love for you to check it out.  I will be doing new project, exclusively on the Patreon page.  Depending on the, chosen, level, there will be one or two larger projects, and several mini-projects each month, as well as, other gifts.

I hope that you're having a great weekend!

Inspiration from the Greats - Jackson Pollock

Inspiration from the GREATS!

Welcome to our first Inspiration from the Greats video.  This month we are being inspired by Jackson Pollock - originator of American Abstract Expressionism!

This video is, primarily in "real time".  I've tried my best to use his techniques.  Of course, I don't believe that he was using small bottles of craft paint.  He used large cans of paints!  He also created very large paintings (which I would like to do someday).

Since this is going to be a monthly thing (we'll focus on a different artist each month), I created a Facebook Group where we can share our painting inspired by the artist of the month.  I would love to see your paintings inspired by Jackson Pollock!!

Here we go...............

I hope that you enjoyed the video and would love to here your comments.  Join the Facebook Group!!

Creative Heart Monday - Acrylic Whimsical Face - "Woman"

Happy Creative Heart Monday!!

Today, I'm painting a whimsical face, but I'm using a new technique (new to me, at least).  I saw Christy Sobelewski use this technique in her, online, class - Painted Faces 2.  I can imagine so many uses for this.  It's very easy....just acrylic paint and dishwashing liquid.  But, you end up with a rainbow of colors.

I did have a little mishap while recording this video.  While applying the third layer to the hair, I knocked over the bottle and was unable to show the entire process on that layer.  However, it's exactly like the first two hair layers, so you're not missing anything pertinent.

Here we go............

Today's painting turned out a little different than I had planned.  My girl was going to have teal hair. The ART of Well Being

Art means a lot to me.  I'm not exaggerating when I say that I make art every day.  It makes me happy.  It keeps me sane.  I can't imagine my life without it.

I'm retired and art gives me a purpose.  I know what I'm going to do when I wake up in the morning. I have goals.  I learn something new everyday.  It gives me something to be proud of and it's opened up communication with a wide array of people that have art in common with me.  When a person is young it's easy to make friends, then during your work years you have relationships with colleagues....... but when I stopped working, my life became a lot smaller.  Art has helped me connect and share with people all over the world.

When I go upstairs to my art room in the morning with my cup of coffee, I am truly happy.  I start working on something and the "chatter" stops.  I stop worrying about life's problems and focus on my project for the day. My sister has stage 4 breast cancer.  She wrote a poem called "There's No Cancer at the Beach".  She says that cancer is in the back of her mind every minute of the day, except when she goes to the beach.  It's the only place where she can really quiet her mind.  My art room is my beach.

After you watch my, short, video.....hop over to the next project in the list below!!
