Happy Creative Heart Monday!

It's been a long time, but I finally got around to making a video!!  The past month has been filled with art festivals and preparing for art festivals.  Today, I'm doing a little mixed media piece on a wooden panel.  This piece is for sale in my Etsy store, as well as, several other similar pieces.

Creative Heart Monday - Leap of Faith (Trying Acrylic Pouring Again)

Happy Creative Heart Monday!

I love watching other artists created beautiful poured pieces.  However, I've just never had good luck with mine.  I don't know if it's the paint.....the ratio of mediums to paint.....or what!

Never one to give up easily, I'm giving it another try.  In the past, I've used the "dirty pour" method.....dropping each paint color mix in one large cup, the turning it over on the canvas.  This time, I'm just slinging the paint around and swiping it here and there.

As you will see, I did actually manage to get some cells this time.  My colors leave a lot to be desired, but I just might have the mixture down.

I want to take a minute to mention Tom Petty.  His death last week made me really sad.  He was from my town and even though I never had the opportunity to meet him, many of my friends went to school with him.  I loved his music and  "Room at the Top" has always been one of my favorite songs.  RIP Tom.

Art Journal JAZZ - Time to Get BRAVE!

It's Time for Art Journal JAZZ!

I've been in a funk recently and I'm getting out of it.  I'm one of those people who just go blank when I'm a little down.  I love those people who can work their way out of the blues by picking up a paint brush, but no matter how hard I try, I just end up staring at the paper or canvas.  Weird!

But.......it's time to snap out of it.  I pushed my way thru my Picasso piece a few days ago and I'm going to keep going.

Creative Heart Monday - Strong Women

Happy Creative Heart Monday......on Wednesday!

First, I'd like to apologize for missing two Mondays.  I've had a crazy couple of weeks.  My parents have been in and out of doctor's appointments and the hospital.  Even though they are only in their 70's (so not super old yet LOL), I still feel it necessary to accompany them to their important appointments and, of course, when they're in the hospital.

On top of that, I have another art festival this weekend and have been trying to make some new art, get organized, packed, etc.

So today's video is actually a project that I did for Gel Press a couple month's ago for their blog.  The video was never "public", so you might not have seen it.  If you did already see it, I've also put another (very small) project video up on YouTube.
